We had the privilege to meet some of our creators. When we arrived, we were met with a warm welcome by Errolene de Klerk in the leafy suburb of Bedfordview. Immediately one feels that this house is used to welcoming and entertaining guests. Her house is beautifully decorated with a dining room, which seems like the heart of the house. One can almost imagine loud family laughter and special occasions celebrated here.
Errolene, born in Randfontein and Joburg-bred, has been in the precious stones business with her husband for many years before turning to her talents to start a business. During COVID in 2021, Errrolene helped a church to make face masks for those in need. Pulling out the sowing machine and realizing how much she loves to create soon developed into launching her small business, Tantalizing Tableware. The name was born from her love for entertaining and making an occasion out of every meal.
Errolene loves fabric, patterns and textiles. She can barely stop herself from buying whenever she goes shopping. Her studio is filled with colourful material and ready-made table runners that will cater for all tastes of life. She works fast and accurately while talking to us, and it seems to all come so naturally to her.
Errolene specializes in table runners and distinguishes herself through the quality of her work, like the mitred corners and the beautiful label on every piece she creates. She wants to expand her range to include cutlery bags and eco-friendly dish covers soon. She is always looking for new fabric, which inspires her creative process.
Her favourite tables to set and decorate are for Christmas and birthday events. She treasures memories made around the table, and in her mind, the more, the merrier. The Moksi team thoroughly enjoyed her warmth and seeing her in creative action.
