I used to wonder why babies need a burp cloth. I never thought that a burp cloth can be so handy, but it became one of my must haves for my kids for the following reasons.
Number one – To protect a parents clothing form the inevitable spit ups, burps and dribble that might come from that cute as a button baby mouth.
Number two – As a makeshift bib to protect a baby’s cute clothing. The bibs are so small and usually gets wet and messy quite easily.
Number three – As a diaper changing mat. When out and about, place underneath a baby bum when changing nappies for those unexpected surprises. (not suggested to wipe an adorable baby face with the same one used under neath a bum, and that is why you need more than one)
Number four – As a comfort blanket for a baby. It is light weight and small enough for the baby to cuddle with while drinking a bottle. The cloth will catch all the leaks, keeping baby’s clothes dry and baby comfortable. My babies loved the cloths as a comfort blanket. They used to grab their burping cloth when they wanted to sleep. It is a lot lighter than a big blanket and a lot more comfortable than a small teddy bear to cuddle with while sleeping.
Number five – As the baby gets older, the burp cloth can be used as a placemat for those messy first bites.
These are just a few reasons that I love a burp cloth. It is a handy little cloth to have for a baby, not just a nice to have but a certain necessity.
