This is a drypoint etching of a headman (leader) on horseback leading a herd of Nguni, followed by 4 Nguni boys armed with sticks to keep the Ngunà together. Cattle are often moved around……usually for grazing, and this is generally the way it is done. Etching paper is mostly suitable for watercolours as well (I use Fabriano pinto rosa – a good heavy Italian paper). I have experimented and found this paper excellent. The subject matter is printed on it with the help of an etching press. Later the paper is coloured using good watercolours. Fabriano also tears well. Etching paper has to be torn and not cut.
