White Pearl & Black Onyx on Gold-Filled Earrings

Chic and stylish 11mm white pearl and 6mm faceted black onyx on gold-filled ear wires. All of the metal components are 14k gold-filled.  The length from the top of the hooks is 4cm. Pearls are the birthstone for June.

Care of pearls

The pearls used are freshwater or saltwater and should be carefully treasured. After wear, wipe them gently with a soft chamois or cloth which can be dry or slightly damp. Never use harsh or abrasive fabrics. Also never use jewellery dips on pearls – it will strip all the natural lustre and nacre from their surface!!

What is gold-filled?

Gold-filled metal is created by bonding or ‘welding’ a layer of gold to a base metal core, often copper.¬† This is achieved by using heat and pressure. In order for an item to be classified as gold-filled, it must have a gold content of at least 1/20th of its total weight. Gold filled is hard wearing, and if looked after it should last a lifetime. It’s my personal preference.
