It is also a favourite for brides on their wedding day as a symbol of love, loyalty and good luck. In ancient times they were a sign of wealth and high status. Today they often signify a sense of style, good taste and beauty. One of my favourite ‘gemstones’.
Caring for your pearls
The pearls used here are freshwater pearls and should be carefully treasured. After wear, wipe them gently with a soft chamois or cloth that can be dry or slightly damp. Never use a jewellery dip on pearls – it will strip all the natural lustre and nacre from their surface.
