Turtle Memory Game.
The goal of the Memory game is to collect the most pairs of matching colors which are on the tummy of the baby Turtles.
Players must rely on their memory to remember where the matching colour were after they’ve been flipped.
Setup.
- Prepare the Turtles: Remove the baby turtles from the mommy. Turn all the babies with their tummies facing down, on a flat surface. Shuffle the babies thoroughly to randomise their positions.
- Layout: A typical setup includes a rectangular arrangement.
- Decide Who Goes First: The youngest player usually starts, but this can be determined by any method the players prefer.
Gameplay.
- Flipping the Turtles: On your turn, select any two Turtles to flip over. Players must turn the turtle completely so everyone can see them.
- Matching Pairs: If both Turtle colours match, collect the pair and place them in your score pile. You earn another turn.
- Missed Match: If the two Turtles do not match, turn them back face down in the same spot. It then becomes the next player’s turn. Remember the locations of the previously flipped Turtles to help you on future turns.
- Continuing Play: The game continues in this manner until all pairs have been matched and collected.
Winning the Game.
- Once all Turtles have been matched, each player counts their collected pairs.
- The player with the most pairs wins! If there is a tie, the game can be played again to determine a victor.
- Develop strategies for flipping the Turtles systematically to maximise memory recall.
